This is my too-cool-for-school friend, Lisa! AKA LisaLisa (to me) after the AWESOME 80s band 'Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam'. And that is what LisaLisa is..AWESOME! So AWESOME that I deemed her worthy of vectoring! Her last name is Eppich. So by nature she is also EPPICh.

I would LOVE to bake this one day!

Strawberry and Poppy Seed Pie! Ah!! It's just.so.beautiful! The triangle pie crust gives this pie such a 'modern' touch! I've never seen pie crust done like this. Unless I'm wrong?! Have I been living under a rock!?

All Hail Lupita Nyong'o

I can't. The way this woman carries herself, her grace, her compassion, it's all too genuine for me to handle! What a different world this would be if there were more people with her beautiful understanding of life!

Math is Beautiful?

via PARACHUTES on vimeo
I certainly have an aversion to math. Since I could remember I was told I was a 'creative person' and not a 'math person'. In 3rd grade I forged my mother's signature on a failed math exam and was sent to the principal's office! I could go on about how telling young people they are this or that makes them more inclined to believe they are or are not something. But I won't. Point is: I HATE MATH, but I respect it. This wonderfully juxtaposed video by Yann Pineill and Nicolas Lefaucheux show the beautiful connection between our daily lives and arithmetic.

Infatuated with 'Element Clay Studio'

March is never too late to purchase a calendar!

Via iVoila on Etsy
March is never too late to get a new calendar! I mean, you still have 10 more months to use it. And with 30% off, I'd say this is the best calender deal of your life. Especially if you're obsessed with all things Sailor Moon! Like me.

SO terrible, tacky, and tasteless that I deem "OMIGHTY" tasteful.

The 'Bruce Lee' crop tank and matching booty short.

     Hey!Arnold Crop T and matching SK8er skirt.

O-MIGHTY. A tacky, hilarious, over-priced brand with a throw-back Geocities/Angel Fire-esque website. On rise already with vendors such as Urban Outfitters and Nastygal, it is only going to get bigger and bigger cult followings. How do I know? Well, I don't. I just have this inkling that this will stir up enough nostalgia in millennials and beyond turning these graphic pieces into 'OMG-gotta-have-it' pieces. I mean can you resist graphics inspired by 90s cartoons/tv shows, junk food, drugs, and today's hottest hashtags? I think not.
My favs [and yes I would totally pay for and rock them]:

A Beautiful Specimen.

Parental Advisory

Sigh. Alexander Wang. Want. Even though this is a very simple pattern/easy to make. Knowledge of construction keeps me from ever over-paying for 'fashion'.

Sailor Moon Season 1 Ep. 3 'Slim City'

I love how Sailor Moon shows usually end with a real message to give to its young viewers. This episode advocates balanced healthy eating and exercise. Another reason to love Sailor Moon <3 br="">

I've been looking for the perfect mirror compact and I've found it! I want these so bad! Waaaah!
Creer Beaute (Japanese company Bandai's cosmetic line) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon! Limited edition cosmetics like nail polish, lip balm, and eyeliners have been on pre-order since September of last year.
Though I am a very loyal Palmer's Cocoa Butter user, I'd give it up for this Sailor Moon Crescent Moon Wand lip balm! (I actually had the original wand back in the 90s!)

Kalinga Tribal Tattoos

Apo Whang Od (Last Kalinga Tattoo Artist)
To get a tattoo from the Kalinga Tribe of the Philippines has been on my 'bucket list' for years. Ignorantly, I thought all you had to do was go up to the Kalinga province and simply ask/pay for one. I couldn't be any more wrong. In this documentary tattoo expert, Lars Krutak, learns the history behind their tradition and gets to apprentice, get tattooed by, and live with, APO WHANG OD. WHAT.A.LUCKY.DUDE.
***BUT, as I have been doing my research, many people have gotten tattooed by Whang Od who have not had to go through all the rituals/learn the Kalinga way of life. Hmm....

Happy Lunar New Year!

I celebrated the Lunar New Year yesterday by being Nom Wah Tea Parlor's first customer of the day! Though it was fun to eat alone, I couldn't eat as much variety as I wanted. Learned the hard way that Dim Sum is more fun with more people! Sad to say I couldn't finish my entire order! ):
Minced Beef Dumplings in Soup (perfect for cold days)
Shrimp Sui Mai
Bean Curd  Skin Roll

"Welcome to the Black Parade" - My Chemical Romance

A karaoke fav as it is ever-so-empowering especially at 3:33!!!!! This used to be my jammies.

Inside North Korea

An oldie, but a goodie. One of my favorite documentaries of FOREVER! I've probably watched this at least 30 times.

My Hero.

Now that is dedication. #icecream

'The Act of Killing'

Directed by Joshua Oppenheimer
This documentary is about the lives of executioners post the 1965 genocide in Indonesia. I honestly have yet to wrap my mind about the concept of this film. I left the theatre feeling sad and really, very confused. I'm just having a difficult time understanding what the purpose/message was. All I can say for certain is that this is unlike ANY documentary I've ever seen before.

Chinatown Ice Cream Factory

Green Tea & Taro Ice Cream
The Chinatown Ice Cream Factory is one of my favorite ice cream parlours in all of NYC. My favorites include, but are never, ever limited to Black Sesame, Taro, Zen Butter, and Pandan. I'm SO infatuated with CICF that I sent them a FB message to congratulate them on their 5,000th Facebook like--and they actually responded! And with a wonderful message! As if I couldn't love them more! (:

Nitehawk Theatre

This theatre has been around since 2011. Why haven't I gone here yet?!?!?! WHY!? #2014Resolution

Cutie and the Boxer Trailer

2014 Oscar nominee for best documentary! I really want to see this next!
